Praising the Lord for travel dates.
We will be leaving on May 22.
As I worked on booking our flights, I smiled as I thought about our boys. In just a few short weeks, we will finally get to meet them!
Though I am thrilled to be looking at flights now, I am not so thrilled about their costs. We are looking at $1540 per person. Just a few weeks back on April 13, the same tickets were running $1111. How crazy is that! But I thought I was smart and factored in the rising costs thinking they would be around $1300 per person. Who knew they would go up so much! Now we are looking at nearly $250 more per person. Yikes!
But I think I figured it out!
Since Fischer is a baby, he can ride on my lap for the plane trip home. With the money saved there, we can use it to cover the difference of our tickets.
God is good. All the time.
With Him, All things are possible.
Yay yay yay! God is with them for this last little bit! We can't wait to hear their new names and see their sweet faces.
ReplyDeleteYAY!!!! So excited for you!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your travel dates. Please verify that Doyle can be a lap baby, as many airlines do require a ticket for infants for international travel. The domestic portion is free. I am saying this as a former airline gate agent of 12 years, just left 6 months ago.
ReplyDeleteYay!!!!! So happy you get to see your boys soon. I'm so looking forward to seeing more pictures of Fischer and Doyle!
ReplyDeleteI've been reading your blog for a while now and I think it's great that you have travel dates! I understand the costs of international travel, but have you thought of the risks of having a lap baby on a plane? There are many videos on the internet showing the dangers. Even slight amounts of turbulence can cause a big issue. Think of it this way, would you ever place the baby in your lap in the car? I'm sure your answer would be no. I write this because of the worry for your new children, not trying to be rude or seem out of place. I'm very excited for you and your family, but please please take the time to research this before you make a decision.
ReplyDeleteSooo excited for you all! Still in my prayers. :)
ReplyDeleteRejoicing with you!!!! So excited!!!
ReplyDeleteLove,
Allison
So exciting! May is a lovely time of year to go to Ukraine!
ReplyDeleteAirplane travel is very very safe not comparable at all to a car. The only thing is that you'll be holding a baby for the whole flight
ReplyDelete(s) but if you are flying with someone you can take turns so you can get a brake.
I brought Saul home on my lap from Haiti, he wasn't 2 yet... he slept everytime we took off and woke up when we landed! He would have been histarical in a car seat since he had never seen one the trip from the airport to the house about 45 min was ear splitting!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! can't wait to see pic's!
Woo Hoo!!! Praising God with you!!!! Go get your boys:-)
ReplyDeleteCongrats, fantastic news!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! We're very happy for you!
ReplyDeleteWonderful news! I am so happy for you and the boys!
ReplyDeleteCan't wait til those sweet boys are home with you. I do agree about checking on the airfares for an infant. I had to buy a lap ticket for the international portion of the trip when I brought my baby home. It was about 1/3 the price of a regular ticket, but that was several years ago now.
