Two New Sons!

Praise the Lord!
We are the proud Mama and Papa of two little boys!

We found out that court was scheduled for 5pm this afternoon.  The timing of this "for sure" news was perfect since we were already out eating an early celebratory lunch with two other families since John would be long gone come dinner time.

Court was supposed to start at 5pm but didn't actually start till 5:30.  She was very nice and read through all of our paperwork before asking us a few questions.  Within 20 minutes the whole thing was over including her ruling in favor of us adopting the boys!

We are so happy to have two news sons

Nolan Robert Reed
(Big Boy)

and

Oliver Wesley Reed
(Little One)

We can't wait till Nolan and Oliver get to meet the rest of the family.  Hopefully only 2 more weeks here.  John is on his way back home now to be with the kids.  He will be home for Father's Day.  Perfect timing.  What is even more perfect timing is that the 10 day waiting period will end on Oliver's birthday.  I can't think of a better birthday present for him.

  8. Well, you know I love Slavic names - but those names are absolutely lovely..... (And my Ilya now insists on going by "Silas" - so, go figure.)

    Congratulations! You are amazing.

  13. YAAAAAAY!!!!! congratulations! i'll be praying for safety, good health, and smooth transitions as well as for everything to go well during your remaining time in-country.

whenever you get a chance, do you think you could possibly explain the decisions regarding the boys' names? as far as i know, all the other kids you've adopted have not had their first names changed. Dennis wasn't much older than your new baby and yet his name was kept, but Oliver doesn't sound like the type of name you'd hear over there very often. neither does Nolan, and he's older - although i don't know where that name comes from so i could be wrong.

just curious... not criticizing at all, just noticing what appears to be a break from the path typical of your family.

congrats again... can't wait to follow their journey home, the reunion, and their adjustment to their brand new lives!

  14. CONGRATS MAMMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I pray for John's safe trip home. I bet the kids are dying to see him. Maybe one day you can write a post answering some of the questions...what is the waiting period now for? Is it always 10 days?

I think I remember you mentioning their names as Doyle and.......sorry name escapes me. Do you rename all the kids ? I am just curious. I once read a blog post about how they felt the childs name is sacred...like that is all they have left of their culture...birth country..birth mom....

No disrespect at all intended! Love the names! Maybe those are their birth names and I am totally wrong..

    Again Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  39. Congratulations! So excited for you to get them home! Some people may not realize the "names" the kids are given on Reece's Rainbow are not the children's real names. I love both the new names! Oliver is one of my favorites.
